Fees and buyer protection

What things cost and what is covered.

Buyer protection fee

8% of the item price plus R5, shown as its own line at checkout. It covers refunds if something is wrong. Sellers pay no fee.

Why bundling saves you money

Everything you buy from one seller is one order: one parcel, one delivery fee, one escrow payment and one buyer protection fee. The fee is 8% of that order's item total plus R5, so the R5 is paid once for the whole order, not once per item.

Some sellers also give a bundle discount (for example 10% off when you buy 2 or more items). It comes off the item prices only, not delivery or the buyer protection fee, and the buyer protection fee is worked out on the discounted total. If you also have an accepted offer on an item, you get whichever price is lower for that item; the two are not added together.

If something is wrong with only some of the items in an order, you can report just those items. If we refund them, you get back their price and the matching share of the buyer protection fee; the rest of the order carries on.

How your money is protected

Your payment is held in escrow until the item is delivered. You then have 24 hours to accept it or report a problem. After that it is released to the seller automatically.
