ID verification

To sell, run auctions or get paid, we check your identity with a verification partner. Your ID or passport, selfie and bank account go to the partner and are not stored by Thrifted. We keep your verified name and date of birth, the bank name and last 4 digits of your account, and one-way codes of your ID and account numbers so we can spot duplicates.

Keeping Thrifted safe

When you sign in, bid, list or check out, we record a one-way code of your device (a fingerprint of your browser) together with your phone number and ID codes, only to spot people who come back after being banned and to catch fake bidding. We never use it for advertising.

Analytics and error tracking

We use PostHog for product analytics and error tracking. We identify you to it by your account id only, never your name, email or phone number, and we do not record your sessions. We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. They do not use cookies and do not identify you.
